Major Achievements of Federation

It is nearly impossible to highlight all the Achievements made by the Federation in relation to their service benefits and welfare of all the non-gazetted employees taking into consideration its existence spanning 4-5 decades. But, still a few Notable Achievements are highlighted below :

• Seeking de facto Recognition from CSIR in 1980 after rigorous struggle for more than 15 years and that too after several victimizations like transfer/suspension/dismissal of its leaders.
• Framing a regular Promotion Policy for non-gazetted S&T staff (Group-I and II employees), almost on par with that of Scientists.
• Abolition of pay scales of Rs.225-350, Rs.330-425 and Rs.380-560 for S&T staff, thereby saving a solid 21 years residency period.
• Withdrawal of IRAS-88 Committee Report
• Adoption of Cadre Review for Administrative Staff
• Adoption of Induction (into technical side) Scheme to Administrative Staff (till Assistants level) in order to derive the benefit of 60 years retirement age
• Regularization of 16 Temporary Staff of CEERI, Pilani (Working in its Regional Centre at Madras) after themselves working for more than 12 years in the temporary capacity
• Re-instatement of a Dismissed Employee/Driver (under Probation), Mr. Jayaram, working at CFTRI, Mysore in 1992 (This was possible by the intervention of Federation into the struggle of local Union – CFTRI Employees’ Union)
• Implementation of Rs.1640-2900 Scale (on 09.06.1995) to the Assistants of all three cadres and Sr.Stenos of CSIR w.e.f. 1.1.1986 – after 54 days of Continuous Dharna before the CSIR HQrs (16.04.1995 to 09.06.1995).
• Many Union Leaders who were victimized (during late 1960s & 1970s - before de facto recognition), were re-instated by the Federation’s intervention
• Absorption of all the surplus staff of DRL, Jammu, VITM, Bangalore and BITM, Calcutta in different National laboratories
• Conversion of termination order of TU leader of CSIR-WU-CRRI Branch into voluntary retirement with all retirement benefits plus settlement of various others cases of termination/suspension of TU leaders as mentioned above
• And other Innumerable Achievements
